NordiCHI is acknowledged as the primary conference for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research and practice in the Nordic countries and Europe. The conference is a meeting place for academia, industry, practitioners, educators, etc., from a broad range of traditions and communities. This year, 2024, the conference is jointly organized by Uppsala University and Umeå University.

Participants and venues

This exclusive event attracts approx. 300-400 researchers, practitioners and students within the field of HCI and user experience research and design. The conference will be held the University Main Building in Uppsala. The magnificent building, built in the 1880s, offer excellent exhibition opportunities and conditions for networking, informal discussions, and social gatherings, enriching the experience for all attendees.

Our conference offers a dynamic daytime program as well as an online program, creating an environment that is at the same time hyperlocal and global, online and physical. To create a sense of presence and liveness in a world that might be more distributed and disconnected than ever before, the conference theme is Live. The theme encourages us to explore innovative solutions that address how distances and diversities in living conditions around the globe can be bridged.
